Puri, Konark Sun Temple, Chandrabhaga Beach are famous holiday destinations for Indians. And if you are from West Bengal, this comes top of your bucket list.
This blog will explore one of the serene and picturesque resorts at Konark-Puri Marine Drive. It is Lotus Eco Resort, Konark - An Offbeat Holiday Gateway in Odisha.

We stayed at Lotus Eco Resort, Konark for two nights and the memory is super.
On the confluence of the Kusabhadra River and the Bay of Bengal lies the picturesque hamlet of Konark and the Lotus Eco Resort. It is just 15mins drive from Konark Sun Temple.

Konark Sun Temple is just 15mins driving distance and one can easily go and visit there. We have done a half a day tour.

One can book Lotus Eco Resort directly with them or through https://www.makemytrip.com/ or booking.com.

We went to Rambha (Chilika) and Mangalajodi from Lotus Eco Resort for one day tour and believe me the drive was super.
So we covered Konark Sun Temple | Chandrabhaga Beach | Marine Drive | Chilka | Mangalajodi
Mangalajodi - The Birds Paradise
Mangalajodi Tour Plan - We started early in the morning at 6 am from the resort. Lotus Eco Resort, Konark to Mangalajodi is 94 km and it takes 2hrs via New Jagannath Rd.

Mangalajodi is a small village located in the Khurda district of the Indian state of Odisha. It is renowned for its rich biodiversity and is often referred to as a birdwatcher's paradise. The village is situated on the northern banks of Chilika Lake, which is Asia's largest brackish water lagoon and a designated Ramsar site, known for its unique ecosystem and as a major birding destination.

The wetlands of Chilika Lake and the surrounding forests are home to a wide variety of avian species, including migratory birds from as far as Siberia, Central Asia, and Europe. Some of the commonly spotted birds in Mangalajodi include various species of ducks, waders, herons, egrets, and kingfishers, among others.

Best time to visit - The best time for birdwatching in Mangalajodi is during the winter months of November to February when the migratory birds arrive in large numbers.
You can contact Mangalajodi Ecotourism boat ride booking. Even they have the stay facility also. This time we did not stay there but earlier we stayed over there and you will enjoy the mud house. The hospitality of the people is fantastic and the foods are good. You will enjoy having your lunch in the middle of nature.
After the morning boat ride, we had our lunch at Mangalajodi Ecotourism Center and then started for Chilika. To book you can visit the following website link to explore and contact details.

One can stay at Rambha Panthanivas, it is an OTDC property. Foods are just super delicious.
You can avail boat ride from there to visit different islands and this is worth visiting.

If lucky you may also see Dolphins taking a dip. You can visit Nalbana Bird Sanctuary (if you are an amid Bird Watcher and do Bird Photography). If you are keen to visit Nalabana Don't forget to arrange passes, as tourists are not allowed and the Forest dept. escorts you there and you need to get passes.
